Agreement of Collaboration Hermitage-Prato
Cooperation Protocol between the State Hermitage Museum, Ermitage Italy and the Provincial Administration of Prato
The State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Ermitage Italyand the Provincial Administration of Prato have concluded an Agreement of Collaboration regarding the conditions for the preparation and realization of a cooperation programme of scientific and cultural initiatives and researches. The programme presents, among its aims, following projects and enterprises:
a. internships and exchange of experiences among scientific collaborators and specialists in the fields of the history of textiles, history of art, cultural heritage, conservation and restoration, museology, history and culture, museography and with the possible participation of collaborators from other museums and scientific organizations of the Region Tuscany;
b. scientific conferences, seminars, round tables (and publishing of the respective Acts) on problems of history of textiles, of history of art and culture, museology, conservation and restoration, organization and realization of programmes of study;
c. special collaboration initiatives in the field of Italian textiles and their collectionism in Russia, about the definition of places and manifacturing origins or firms, and anything in this field of art is deemed necessary, given the importance of the collections in Prato and Russia;
d. setting up of exhibitions which will be the result of joint research and that can be destined both to the State Hermitage Museum and the Textile Museum;
e. availability in Prato of guest-rooms that can accomodate, on prior agreement with Ermitage Italia and the State Hermitage Museum, the researchers and internship trainees;
f. special programmes to widen the researches on Russian collectors’ taste regarding figurative and decorative Italian arts with particular attention on the textiles world;
g. specific collaboration exchanges, studies and researches in the field of restoration, preservation and diagnostic tests with special attention to textiles.
